Service Animals
We welcome all guests with service animals. Please be sure to abide by all regulations surrounding your animals (e.g., ADA, New York laws). Importantly, please remember to:
- Keep the animal(s) with you at all times
- Keep the animal(s) leashed and under control at all times
- The animal(s) may be unleashed when necessary for their service role but must remain under your verbal control
- The animal(s) must not be left unattended at any time, except:
- If you are in a room with shared bathing facilities, you may leave your service animal(s) in your room while you bathe, if you are able
We kindly request (but do not require) that you provide us with advance notice of your stay with service animals.
If there is anything else we can reasonably do to help accommodate our guests with service needs, please do not hesitate to reach out. (We hope to add an accessible entrance and accessible bathing facilities.)
The ADA has a FAQ about service animals available online at
https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-faqs/. The New York State Attorney General has a pamphlet on service animals available online at
https://ag.ny.gov/sites/default/files/publications/serviceanimals-english.pdf.
If you are found to be in violation of any applicable regulation or code of conduct as detailed above we reserve the right to request the animal(s) be removed from the property. Repeated offenses may require us to deny you service for the safety of our other guests.
Pets
We generally welcome guests a dog, but only upon advance notice and our consent. We can accommodate one guest with a dog in our queen rooms with shared bathrooms. If you are allowed to bring a dog, please begin by abiding by all the same regulations as persons with service animals enumerated above (including the bathroom exception). The dog must be properly licensed (if required by your primary residence’s laws) and up-to-date on vaccinations (regardless of any legal requirement). We reserve the right to decline to accommodate pets for any reason and without justification.
Additionally:
- Please refrain from bringing your dog into the kitchen of the basement.
- If necessary, please tether your dog to one of the nearby columns in the recreational area of the basement.
- Dogs must remain on the floor at all times, and not on furniture or beds.
- Please provide your dogs’ vaccination records prior to arrival, to reservations@prescott-house.com.
- We charge an additional $25 pet fee per stay.
If you are found to be in violation of our pet policy we reserve the right to require the pet be removed from the property for the remainder of your stay or elect to terminate your reservation immediately and charge you for the entire stay.
Damage
For damage caused by any guest, or any service animals or other animals brought by a guest (with or without our permission or legal authorization), the booking guest shall be charged a damage fee of $250 or the actual cost of repair, whichever is greater, to cover the cost and labor for repairing the damage. The booking guest will also be charged for any lost bookings as a result of the damage. Damage includes, but is not limited to, spills, physical damage, animal pee or poo, etc. The cost to clean or replace carpets ranges from $450 to over $1,000. Accordingly, we ask that you be mindful of keeping the rooms and common areas in good condition for your, and all guests’, current and future enjoyment. Thank you.
